Originally built in 1869, The Gables Inn was the first hotel in Sausalito. For over 200 years, Sausalito has attracted the elite, notorious, artistic, and bohemian. In 1775, European settlers named the city “Saucito,” meaning “Little Willow” in Spanish, after the trees they found growing along its stream banks.
One dozen red roses in a vase and one bottle of Domaine Laurier Brut California Sparkling Wine placed in room upon arrival. The roses and champagne are $75.00 plus tax, and can be added to any room reservation.
"My favorite place to stay in Sausalito. This is a hidden gem, the rooms are exceptional, the location is perfect. Every staff member is a delight. I stay here as often as I can just for the ambiance and the staff alone. Love this place!“
"It was a big room with great amenities with fantastic breakfasts every morning and wine and cheese every evening. What more could we ask for. Great weather close to the ferry and shopping. The staff was wonderful. We have have told everyone about The Gables and would definitely recommend it.“
"My husband and I have enjoyed many trips here and consider The Bay Room our home away from home in Sausalito. The level of detail, friendly staff, and location make this a must stay when in the Bay area. Truly amazing, wonderful, and more special than you could ever imagine. “
